Terms of Service

These short terms cover the Weke Chat beta. They will be replaced by full, reviewed terms before general release. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.

1. The service

Weke Chat is an invite-only, end-to-end encrypted messenger operated as a beta preview on chat.wekedev.com. It is provided free of charge during the beta.

2. Beta means beta

The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Features may change, break, or be removed.
We may need to reset accounts, chats or the whole server during the beta. Keep copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
No uptime commitment: maintenance can happen at any time.

3. Your account

You need a working phone number to register and an invite from an existing member to join.
You are responsible for your device and your recovery PIN. If both are lost, your encrypted history cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
One account per person; you must be at least 16 years old.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Weke Chat to break the law or to harm others. In particular, no:

illegal content, including child sexual abuse material;
harassment, threats or incitement of violence;
spam, scams, or automated bulk messaging;
attempts to break, probe or overload the service or to de-anonymize other users.

We can't read encrypted messages, but we can and will suspend accounts reported for abuse or caught abusing the service's infrastructure.

5. Your content

Your messages are yours. We claim no rights over your content; we process it only as needed to deliver it (encrypted) to your recipients. Disappearing-message timers delete content as described in the privacy notes.

6. Termination

You can stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and may discontinue the beta itself with reasonable notice on this site.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, missed messages or any indirect damage arising from use of the beta. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
